Beach cleanup - June 6th, 2009

The BeeTTle Crew is planning a beach cleanup for the Saturday before World Oceans Day. We are planning to go either to a beach in south Trinidad or back to Manzanilla, depending on whether the south beaches need our help.

Date: June 6th, 2009

Location: Manzanilla

Meeting Point: Manzanilla or Pickup locations

Meeting Time at beach: 7:15 am

Departure time at Pickup points: Arima: 5:45am
St. Augustine UWI: 5:25am

Garbage bags will be provided courtesy of a donation from CLICO (Trinidad) Ltd.

Gloves and light refreshments are provided courtesy of a donation from the Tourism Development Company Ltd.
Please walk with anything else you may need. Wear sunscreen and protective clothing, shoes.

Wear red or white so we can all find each other.

Persons who have arranged to meet the transport vehicle at the designated location must arrive at the Arima and St. Augustine pick-up locations at the scheduled time or call ahead (777-5635) to let the transport person know exactly how long a delay there will be before you arrive. Failure to provide accurate information may result in you getting left behind.

All persons requesting transportation must be ready to leave when the transport vehicle is ready. In other words, if you wish to stay and bathe, you may need to arrange your own transport.

News and notes

The BeeTTle Crew is now "tweeting" - ain't technology sweet?! Or should I say "tweet"?! :)
Please follow our updates here: http://www.twitter.com/beettlecrew

We are planning a beach cleanup for June 6th - the day before World Ocean Day, it turns out. Follow us on Twitter for details as they unfold. We are looking at a south beach possibly. Suggestions are more than welcome.
We have also acquired a mobile number, so volunteers can contact any one of the BeeTTle Crew directors/organisers. You can find that number on our Facebook page here:

We hope to start a petition for garbage receptacles on all beaches, so look out for that coming soon.
