Manzanilla

Photos
The BeeTTle Crew arrived at Manzanilla around 7:15 am. There were 10 of us (including friends/relatives who came to help;) and two groups of North Manzanilla CEPEP workers assisted with our effort as promised by SWMCOL. We met with CEPEP Corporate Communications Officer, Ms. Fern Puckerin who was very interested in our efforts and will be our future liaison for beach clean-up activities.

The area we chose to clean was just after the resort. It was dauntingly littered with refuse. Some areas contained piles of garbage; these were thought to be the central camp sites.

Three hours later we could see the fruits of our labour. And you can see them too, just click this link to view some pictures! The BeeTTle Crew collected over 100 bags of garbage, mostly medium-sized. To ease pick-up, we placed the garbage bags at the side of the main road using one of our vehicles. CEPEP was responsible for transport and disposal of the garbage bags collected. A very tired BeeTTle Crew left Manzanilla at 11:45am. See you at our next clean-up!
